Welcome to St Peter's Church.
Our motto is
"There's room for everyone at St Peter's"
so that includes you.
St Peter's is part of the Anglican Church (or Church of England.) Parts of the building date back nearly 900 years, or maybe longer.
Have a look on the Services page to see what we offer or use the Contacts page to ask us a question. We look forward to seeing you.
2014 - 100 YEARS
The 100th anniversary of the start of the "war to end all wars" is on Monday 4th August.
We've already had a fascinating talk courtesy of the Parish Council and more is to come:
Izzy Whatrup will be at the Parish Information Day on 10 May in the school from 11am to 1pm and then at our Fete on 28 June from 2-4.
On the anniversary of the day itself we will start with a late meal in The Bell before walking with lanterns to the church, led by members of the army cadets Corps of Drums in time for a service. A brief service, in which wreaths will be laid by members of the families of villagers who gave their lives in the conflict, will conclude with the extinguishing of the lights at 11.00pm - the exact hour at which war was declared.
We would like to involve the maximum number of local organisations in this.
Please contact Graham if you have any ideas.
Members of the families of those who gave their lives in the war are especially invited to discuss how they could be involved.
Thank you everyone, especially to Tracey for the flowers, Wendy and many friends for the cakes, Marion for the tea, Izzy, Roy and St Paul's music group for the music, clergy, Readers and congregation for the service, Jean and Tony for the balloons, and all of you for your hard work and support
The donations to KAT are now over £5000 - amazing! Thank you for your generosity.
