Happy New Year to you all!!

Thank you

To everyone who helped make Christmas 2011 so meaningful and enjoyable.  Around 1000 people shared in a special Christmas service or concert at St Peter's this year.

Cards were delivered, flowers arranged, mince pies made, teas served, books handed out and redistributed when they ran out and then redistributed again, clean-ups faster than a Ryanair turn around but without the accompanying abuse of the passengers took place between services, the choir sang joyfully, the Council cleared the torched car with efficiency, candle lanterns were strung and lit, B&Q supplied a beautiful tree, and Izzy played better than Reginald Dixon with possibly the first rendition of the Red Flag at a midnight communion.

The children were wonderful and even the grown-ups behaved themselves.

The Dad's sang lustily at the crib services and the angel Gabriel will be back in military uniform in January (thank you - you know who you are - for getting Crib Too off to such a memorable start.)   Thank you all, especially those I've omitted to thank.

Graham's Sabbatical

Graham the Curate is on sabbatical (a rest) from church and work between Christmas and Easter. Please refer all queries during this time to the Rector, Bonnie.

It's a total rest so you won't see him in church or at events and he won't be answering the phone or e-mails. That way you may stand a chance of getting a fully-restored curate in time for Easter.

Meanwhile keep the evening of 17th April free.

Church Painting:

No, not an oil painting but many thanks to Rob, Patrick and others from Ronnie's team who had the interior looking beautiful for Christmas.  The limewashing will contiune with gusto from the 9 Jan 12 until completion (that's 2 weeks maximum!).

Christmas Fair:

Thank you to everyone who helped organise and run the very successful fair, and to all who came along.  There were so many we are going to have to think of timed tickets or a bigger hall next year!  A good time was had by all and we raised about £2000.
