Last updated August2009.  If you find a broken link, please email me

I am happy to consider links to other web sites.  If you are a commercial outfit linked to weddings it does help if you’ve worked with the Curate.  Grab him at the next wedding and give him your card (but not if you’re a photographer who has just spent2 hours on the photos……)

Useful Links,

And at the other end of the spectrum, The-River meets at Fairview School (next to St Matthew’s) at 3.30pm every Sunday afternoon.  Everything they do is designed to be welcoming and inviting to people who, for whatever reason, would not normally go to church.  So if that’s you, why not pop along and see.

St Mary’s Darenth, really beautiful little church, similar to St Peter’s but different inside.  It’s at the junction of the M25 and A2 if you want to have a look.

Mother’s Union – Campaigns, Prayer, Help, everything you didn’t expect.

Clear Lake Presbyterian Church – An inspiring story of a flourishing Christian community.  Makes our chapel project look a little tame.

Taize – A different experience

Christian Aid’s Fish site – A collection of Development and related issues

Anglicans Online – Unofficial but excellent site with links to churches all over the world

Faithlinks – an American Episcopalian (= Anglican) site with some excellent articles

Off the scale theology (like, it helps not to believe in God to cope with this one)

Marriage & Weddings

Planning a church wedding ceremony?  Wedding Check List & Texts (Readings, Orders of Service, etc) is the document that we sometimes use when organising the service.  It may help you decide what type of service you want and what to put in your service sheet.

Hymns

The few hymns in this file are all out of copyright so you can happily include them in your service sheets.  If you want to use modern songs you will need to ask us for the copyright information you must include.  See the general wedding links below for music and more words.  Look at the links below for other hymns or talk to the curate who has many of the hymns in our hymnbooks on disk.

Church of England, texts of services

We can help you with producing your service sheets for weddings, funerals and christenings or we can do them for you or you can use our standard sheets so don’t worry about this (or anything else).

If you are looking here for resources for  Lessons and Carols, Good Friday, Easter Dawn, Family Friendly Services, etc., then please mail Graham the Curate – if enough of you respond I will post the material so you can download it without going through me.  There’s no charge for this and I’d love to hear from you.

Bible Study Notes

You are welcome to use any of these.  Please don’t sell them if you do copy anything from here.

Emerging Church – This is a full set of notes in RTF format  (works on most Word Processors but you may have to play with the fonts etc to restore the original pagination)

The pages are designed to be printed back-to-back so page 2 prints on the back of page 1, etc.  When it’s all folded into A5 the text will follow.  If it does not open properly then mail the curate and ask for a copy to be sent to you.

These are the funeral directors we most often work with.  We have found them all to be excellent:

John Weir,
Buttons,
Co-Op Funeral Care,
Apps/Fowle,
T Allen,

Monumental Masons  BUT please note that many of the national firms do not supply any memorials that would be allowed in our churchyard.  Our local firms understand our rules and will guide you appropriately.  If you want to go elsewhere please read our guides above first.
