Wedding Fees

FEES  (these will change for 2011 and later years. 

Generally they go up by the rate of inflation but the major fees are set centrally so we have no control on this. 

This page is only a guide – please confirm the fees with the office when booking your wedding.

 

Fees for the Banns, the service and the certificate are fixed by law.  The others are decided by the church council (PCC). 
Our aim is to fully cover our costs and to ensure that those who assist in the service are properly rewarded.

 

Our organists are professional musicians.  In common with all church organists they receive the organist’s part of the fee even if you provide your own organist for your wedding.

 

The money for flowers for weddings in each church is aggregated over the year so that everyone has a similarly good display, regardless of the time of year or number of weddings on the day.

PARISH OF SOUTH GILLINGHAM WEDDING FEES FROM JANUARY 2010 UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2010

                                                                                                 

Marriage Only                                                   £285.50      This is the legal fee we have to charge for conducting a marriage. 

                                                                                                  If this is all you want then we are happy to provide it.  But it’s all you get.

                                                                                                  There is an additional £34 banns fee if you live in a different parish.

 

Basic Wedding Cost                                          £600            For a traditional wedding we also provide flowers, organist, verger,

                                                                                                  marriage preparation, personalised ceremony, etc.

                                                                                                  We’ll even fire up the boiler in winter.
                                                                                                  We offer this as a complete package as it keeps things simple.

                                                                                                  (so this is a total cost; it includes all legal fees, etc.)

 

Blessing following a civil ceremony                

or for full Anniversary ceremony                  £300            (use of church, organist and Minister only.  Flowers extra

                                                                                               You may supply your own flowers during Lent.)

 

 

Banns (when marrying by common licence)   £22.00      (But enquire as to the cost of the license!)

 

Other Costs

 

        If you are marrying in another church but you live in our parish, we will be asked to “call your banns”. 

        Similarly, you will have to arrange this if you live in another parish but are getting married in ours.

        Our fee is as follows: (other churches may have different arrangements so always ask):

 

        Publication of Banns and Certificate:                         £34.00
